This is a watercolor still life of a Hersey Kiss. Painting foil in watercolor is especially challenging since there is no white color. You have to intentionally leave any white areas blank so the raw paper shows through. I mapped out the foil with a light pencil sketch and painted in the wrinkles with a gray wash. I then added some really light red as a reflection into the white areas between the wrinkles The rest I just left as bare paper. The hardest part was keeping the red background from seeping into the paper where the kiss is since that would have ruined the shape.
